Duties
As the Technology Business Development Manager, you'll be instrumental in driving strategic growth and enhancing cohesion across the business. Your role will involve:
* Working with the Technology Sector Leaders to develop and set the sector strategy and the go-to-market programme.
* Developing the sector's proposition and market profile activity, working closely with the firm's marketing specialists.
* Identifying, qualifying, and converting leads into opportunities and revenue with the sector leaders and aligned partner group.
* Managing, leading, and contributing to bids and tenders for the Technology sector across the firm, providing a sector perspective and insight on tender responses.
* Developing and managing thought leadership campaigns to drive profile and growth of the sector.
* Owning and managing the business development budget, identifying costs for planned activities, and adhering to predefined budgets outlined in the business development plans.
* Collaborating with practice and tech specialists to build products and associate sales materials to support the strategy.
* Maintaining and managing the technology credentials, case studies, and standard bid content housed on our central system – Foundation.
* Working with sector leaders, the client team, and identified CRPs on priority programme clients for the sector.
* Identifying and building out plans for sector growth targets with the sector leaders.
* Collaborating with members of the international BD team to drive the Technology sector agenda globally and deliver growth and new client wins.
* Contributing insights and recommendations to prioritise 'hot topics' and strategic growth areas throughout the year.
* Developing and maintaining key messaging for the Technology sector across various marketing channels, including marketing materials, legal directories, and the website, in collaboration with marketing and communications teams.
* Proactively immersing yourself in understanding the sector and our work, building a robust personal network across the business and other relevant sectors, facilitating effective collaboration and knowledge sharing.
* Playing a pivotal role in driving synergies across our group and sector teams, maximising opportunities, and fostering growth across the firm.
Your Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Proven track record of driving successful business development initiatives within an international law firm or professional services organisation, with a specialised focus on the technology sector, including leading bids and pitches to secure new business opportunities.
* Adaptability and flexibility to collaborate seamlessly across various functions, establishing credibility and fostering trust among partners and other stakeholders.
* Exceptional project management skills, enabling effective management of multiple responsibilities amidst competing priorities, tight deadlines, and evolving business dynamics, with a specific emphasis on managing bids and tenders from initiation to closure.
* Demonstrated leadership, including the ability to lead teams, delegate tasks effectively, and collaborate with specialist teams such as Communications and Marketing, particularly in the context of new to market propositions and thought leadership.
* Strong communication skills, with confidence to engage professionally with senior leadership, colleagues, and external stakeholders, facilitating effective collaboration and fostering strong relationships.
* Ideally, possessing a solid understanding of the technology legal environment, while also exhibiting a continuous learning mindset and innate curiosity to stay updated on industry trends and developments.
