We are looking for an experienced and analytically strong Stock Coordinator and Buyer to join our food manufacturing company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing stock levels, coordinating purchasing activities, and ensuring optimal inventory management. You will play a key role in managing the procurement process, liaising with suppliers, and maintaining efficient stock levels to meet production demands. The role requires strong Excel skills, with experience using SAP or other ERP systems to manage stock, procurement, and data analysis effectively.
Salary: £32,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage and maintain optimal stock levels, ensuring the availability of raw materials and packaging to meet production schedules.
2. Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate contracts, secure the best prices, and ensure timely deliveries.
3. Utilise SAP/ERP systems to track inventory, generate stock reports, and provide data-driven insights for decision-making.
4. Coordinate with the production and operations teams to forecast material needs and place purchase orders accordingly.
5. Analyse stock trends and consumption patterns to reduce excess stock and avoid shortages.
6. Analyse the results of month-end stock counts, identifying any variances and discrepancies.
7. Work closely with the operations team to resolve any stock discrepancies or issues identified during the stock count analysis.
8. Report stock count findings and inventory analysis to the finance team, providing insights and recommendations for action.
9. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to stock levels, procurement efficiency, and supplier performance.
10. Work with the finance team to manage budgets, approve purchase orders, and ensure cost-effective procurement practices.
11. Ensure that all procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant industry standards.
12. Continuously improve inventory management processes, identifying and implementing opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains.

1. Proven experience (3+ years) in stock coordination, buying, or inventory management within a food manufacturing environment. Essential
