The Role:
Our IT team is made up of enthusiastic and experienced IT professionals who provide cutting edge technology in a collaborative and supportive environment. This role sits within our IT networking and security team who are responsible for maintaining key security technologies along with the underlying network infrastructure. We are looking for an experienced senior networking engineer, who would like to expand their knowledge further in this area. You will be responsible for the delivery of strategic projects, working closely with colleagues and the IT Network & Security manager to deliver the IT Business Plan.

Key responsibilities will include:
* Participate in multi-discipline projects acting as the network engineering subject matter expert.
* Act as the Technical Lead and escalation point for all network related queries.
* Research and advise on the latest industry best practises regarding networking solutions and make recommendations to the business where necessary.
* Mentoring of junior members of staff, participating in knowledge transfer and training sessions.
* Actively monitor SIEM and other alerting tools and respond appropriately to any alerts triggered.
* Respond to, or act in an advisory capacity to junior members of the team to all service request tickets that relate to networking hardware or associated networking technologies.
* Assist in driving forward the firm’s IT strategy, with a focus on the Networking Infrastructure.
* Technical involvement in scoping, researching, vendor selection, implementation, configuration, documentation and roll out of strategic infrastructure technologies – working with industry leading vendors.
* Proactively monitoring the firm’s Network infrastructure, (from an availability, security and performance perspective) and take pre-emptive or reactive action based upon this information.
* Strong experience of Cisco networking technologies and knowledge of Microsoft Azure Cloud networking configuration and concepts.
* To work with fellow team members and the IT Network & Security Manager to build strategic partnerships and relationships with key vendors and suppliers.
* To evaluate emerging technologies in the marketplace and to raise a business case for adoption where tangible benefits can be brought to the firm.
* Continuous improvement – to drive through identified improvements and/or additional controls and procedures as necessary to sustain our ISO-27001 Information Security accreditation.
* To adhere to the firm’s Information Security standards, policies and procedures ensuring that they are embedded in everything that we do.
About you:
To succeed in and enjoy this role, you will have:
* Experience of implementing Networking Infrastructure at a senior level.
* Experience of working in an Agile/Scrum environment would be beneficial.
* The ability to work in partnership with industry leading technology providers, such as Cisco and Microsoft to deliver new projects.
* Document authoring skills.
* Strong team working abilities.
* First class communication skills, specifically when delivering complex technical concepts to the business and colleagues.
* A passion for developing your career further within Network Infrastructure and working at an architect level with industry leading products.
* Experience with the following technologies: Cisco Networking Architecture, Cisco Meraki, Network Access Control solutions (ideally Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), Cloud Technology (IaaS) – Network Configuration, Load Balancers, Remote Access/VPN, SIEM, Vulnerability Management, Secure File Transfer, Email Gateways
* Experience with the following technologies is desirable but not essential: Cisco DNA Center, Scripting (Cisco IOS, PowerShell, Python, etc), Microsoft (Server, Hyper V, PowerShell, etc), Azure, Office 365
We would also encourage applications from candidates who perhaps do not possess all the attributes and experience listed above but are competent with the majority and would be able to quickly develop the additional skills and experience required in post with our full support.
Qualifications:
Ideally, we would be looking for candidates to hold a professional qualification such as CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, Network +, Security +, Checkpoint – CCSA, CCSE, Microsoft – MCSE, MCSA, MCITP (or be working towards this). However, we would also be open to applications from candidates who could bring a knowledge of the market from relevant industry experience.
