Grafton Banks Finance is working with a large PE backed construction group to recruit a Financial Controller for one of their businesses, based in Swanley Kent. The role will report into the Finance Director and will manage a small team that will provide financial leadership to the £300m turnover business, helping to drive sustainable and profitable performance. We are looking for a qualified accountant who is skilled in skilled in financial accounting and management reporting, is experienced managing small teams, and is passionate about improving systems, processes, and controls. The successful applicant will be experienced in the construction industry or facilities management industries, this is essential The role is likely to be hugely varied, requiring key skills in prioritising, time management, and stakeholder management, to deliver the following tasks: Month close & journal preparation, and/or review, to strict month end schedules. Processing monthly contract accounting. Overhead reporting. Cash and contract budgeting and forecasting support, and co-ordination Balance Sheet management. Support Tenders & Business plan. Involvement in development of new ERP / IT systems. Assisting in the coordination and completion of audit requirements. Assist with ensuring full VAT, CIS, PAYE compliance. Manage and develop the small finance team. Salary for this role is up to £90,000 benefits including private healthcare, pension, and 25 days holiday. The role is based in our clients’ offices in Swanley, Kent, and hybrid working is offered with 3 days per week expected in the offices.
