The role
We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Accounting Technician who is dedicated to accurate reporting, financial compliance, forecasting, process improvements and making a meaningful contribution to our business performance.
Reporting to the Finance Manager you will be responsible for:
1. Supporting daily cashflow tasks and monthly forecasting
2. Maintaining and reconciling the fixed asset register with the general ledger
3. Managing wholesale rebates calculations and reporting
4. Preparing monthly and quarterly reporting packs and assisting with financial submissions.
5. Preparing end-of-month journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
6. Assisting budget planning and developing annual business plans.
7. Managing GST, FBT, and other compliance requirements.
8. Coordinating payroll processing, including liaising with external providers.
9. Handling AP/AR processes, corporate credit cards, and customer PPSR registrations.
To be successful for this role, you’ll need:
1. An Accounting Technician qualification or equivalent accounting experience eg. 5+ years in accounting/finance roles.
2. Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and compliance.
3. Solid knowledge of GST, FBT, AP/AR, payroll processes, and asset reconciliation.
4. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, SAP or similar ERP systems)
5. Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, financial modelling).
6. Strong interpersonal skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
7. Detail-focused, organised, and analytical — with a continuous improvement mindset
8. High attention to detail and an ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
9. Experience using BI tools and PPSR systems a plus.
