A rewarding opportunity has become available to support the Councils Rough Sleeping Intervention Service to reduce rough sleeping within the Borough and make positive changes to lives! This role is fixed term until 31st March 2025 with possible extension dependent on funding.
This role is an integral part of the service providing support to people across the district who are currently rough sleeping as well helping those recently rehoused from the street to avoid repeat homelessness.
You will build relations with clients to enable them to address their individual needs but also with agencies, services and internal departments and to advocate for your client when required to achieve the best outcome for them whilst adhering to legislation, so interpersonal skills are key!
You will be required to respond in a timely manner to contact those referred as being homeless and sleeping rough. A flexible approach to working unsociable hours to meet the demands of the role will be required.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping vulnerable people through the provision of housing related support. You will have experience of working within a housing support, rough sleeping or homelessness prevention environment. An understanding of the reasons why people end up sleeping rough as well as measures to help resolve such issues would be advantageous.
This role will cover the Boston Borough area, therefore a driving licence is required to enable cover all areas especially during the Outreach sessions, early mornings. This is a full-time, front-line face to face role and will be based at Boston. The Council has introduced agile working meaning the officer may also be able to work from other locations outside the office. However, this being a front-line face to face role, this option will be a rare occurrence.
