The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our permanent team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality psychiatric care within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping patient care and contributing to the ongoing success of our services.
Role Responsibilities
* Provide high-quality clinical care for patients referred to the hospital, ensuring holistic and person-centric treatment based on the recovery model.
* Take clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds and risk reviews.
* Conduct expert psychiatric assessments and treatment for a diverse patient population.
* Lead and manage patient care within your specialty, ensuring the highest standards of care.
* Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, therapists, and nursing staff.
* Engage in clinical governance and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
* Participate in on-call rotations, ensuring continuous high-quality care.
* Foster relationships with external stakeholders and maintain a network of professional contacts.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant clinical guidelines and regulatory standards.
* Commit to ongoing professional development and meet Revalidation requirements.
Candidate Profile
* Full GMC registration with specialist registration in psychiatry.
* Extensive experience in Forensic psychiatry.
* Strong knowledge of Clinical Governance and adherence to regulatory frameworks.
* Successful completion of an enhanced DBS check, provided by Suttons Manor.
* CCST / CCT (or equivalent) in the relevant areas of Psychiatry and experience in inpatient settings with people with significant mental health difficulties.
* Ability to work autonomously to agreed objectives and understand the impact of actions on patient care.
* Ability to solve problems using systemic knowledge and experience, with occasional creative thinking to apply best practices.
