As an Experience Designer who is strong in Service and Interaction design, with experience in performing User Research, you will deliver service blueprints, user journeys, flows, lo-fi & hi-fi prototypes, interface design, component designs, design specifications, presentations, and design pitches.
For this role you are:

* Developing a deep understanding of user needs and championing the benefits of user-centered, inclusive design and accessibility.
* Performing discoveries and are comfortable with planning, scoping, conducting, analyzing, and communicating findings that ground design decisions against user needs.
* Enjoying collaborative work in a dynamic and creative environment, and being comfortable working with different technical experts as part of a multidisciplinary team, guiding software engineers as they build your designs.
* A strong desire to co-create with users and relish participation from stakeholders and the wider team, with experience leading workshops and broader inclusive design initiatives.
* Great with stakeholders and an engaging communicator, able to speak fluently to business people, designers, engineers, and other stakeholders.
* Comfortable working in all fidelity of design, from initial concepts to final design specifications, from the initial discovery phase through to working with developers to produce the final solution.
* UX savvy, able to craft and translate user needs into journeys and show evidence of how the solutions meet the required needs with measurable value. Comfortable working with the team reshaping user stories and defining acceptance criteria.
* Taking a holistic approach in your design process, identifying patterns and workflows by considering the larger system.
* Having an understanding of graphic design and being versed in typography, application of color theory, consistent use of branding, and information hierarchy.
* Technology savvy with a good understanding of how digital services are designed, developed, and operated. Comfortable working with different technical experts as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Understanding agile and lean practices, keen to be part of the team in analysis and synthesis to increase consensus and challenge assumptions.
* Working with UX Researchers and performing your own evaluations to test designs, comfortable conducting your own research.
Nice to have skills:
* Experience with the design and development lifecycle, from the initial discovery phase through to working with developers to produce the final solution.
* Service Design/UX experience including user journeys, flows, lo-fi & hi-fi designs, and prototype experiences for user testing.
* Experience producing component-based UI or contributing to a design system, and can discuss brand values and how best to serve the needs for mobile, tablet, and desktop UI, with experience designing products that meet accessibility standards.
* A minimum of 4 years of experience in a design role at a consumer-focused company or government body, and a degree in Design, Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
* A portfolio that showcases your design process and thinking.
* Experience working within the GDS framework and service standards is a benefit.
