Description
EFT are looking to recruit a new apprentice in the Cumbria region! The successful candidate will be working for an established, progressive company with excellent career potential, benefiting from extensive training and a strong all-round package.
The ideal candidate is a person who wants to stay and grow with the business long term. EFT Systems has been established for over 45 years; however, over the last 2 years, it has seen significant growth in large service contracts and large installation projects.
This role covers most of Cumbria - the ideal candidate would live within Cumbria and be able to travel around as required. Due to rapid expansion, they are currently recruiting for a talented individual to enroll in their apprenticeship programme.
This is a field-based role with classroom training once every 8 weeks on a block release system.
Duties include, but are not exclusive to:
* Installation of systems
* Maintenance of systems
* Repair of systems
* Commissioning and programming of systems
Entry Requirements
Desired Skills/Qualities:
* A full, clean UK driver's license is essential - this role will involve travel all around Cumbria, including remote locations with little public transport.
* IT competent to be able to use a PDA and Microsoft packages (Word, Excel).
* Must be able to pass a full DRB background check.
* Must pass British Standard Security Screening (BS7858).
* It would be an advantage to have some engineering experience (though training is provided).
* A can-do attitude and desire to learn more about the wider industry.
Training to be Provided
Fire Emergency Security Systems Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.
Skills for Security will deliver the apprenticeship training in block release at their Warrington Centre. You will attend the centre one week every eight weeks.
You will be required to complete all training tasks allocated during your block release weeks at the training centre and gather any site evidence needed to supplement your studies. You will be required to complete an annual assessment at the training centre and take part in any additional training courses that the employer wants you to take part in.
Things to Consider
The apprenticeship is 36 months, and therefore, full commitment is needed. Standard hours for this role are Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm. Salary is National Apprenticeship minimum wage + 3% for your first year, rising to National Minimum Wage for your age in year 2 until qualified.
Future Prospects
The successful apprentice will become a qualified security engineer with development and progression within the business.
