Community First Aider (South & West Yorkshire)
Make a difference with St John Ambulance and become a lifesaver in your community. Gain new skills, support others, and be the hero your community needs!
At St John Ambulance, we are looking to develop our volunteering offer and become an even more integral part of our communities through delivering community first aid and education.
We need people who have a passion for helping others, care about their communities, and want to make a difference by supporting them to become safe and more resilient through sharing your first aid skills and knowledge. As a Community First Aider, you’ll deliver first aid to those in need through local events and provide education to the public, ensuring that the ripple effect of First Aid grows.
Through supporting the growth of community partnerships, you will bring people along to our cause, growing our membership and fundraising base and spreading the message that First Aid Saves Lives.
As a Community First Aider, you’ll experience a huge sense of satisfaction and pride delivering an essential service. It’s great for you, great for your community, and great for our nation, requiring only a small commitment of your time.
We will ensure you have access to a proper induction for volunteering with SJA and the training you need for the role. We will also provide you with a supportive environment while you volunteer with us. Information about our volunteer roles is included in the role descriptions, along with what you can expect from SJA and what we expect from those who volunteer with us, as outlined in the volunteer charter.
The closing date for this opportunity is: 5th January 2025.
Interviews will be taking place between 6th January and 20th January 2025.
If you are successful, you will need to undertake induction for the role during these dates: Welcome Event (Induction): 3rd March 2025 - 24th March 2025.
Community First Aider training for all new volunteers will take place on 26th & 27th April 2025 at The Print Works, Rosebery Street, Elland, West Yorkshire, HX5 0HT.
