Accounts Payable Finance Assistant
The Accounts Payable Finance Assistant is responsible for ensuring that all invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner. Demonstrating the ability to support stakeholders and deal with queries effectively to ensure payments to suppliers are made within due dates.
As an Accounts Payable Finance Assistant, you will need to have/be:
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Knowledge of VAT requirements.
* Experience in a shared service centre and the ability to communicate effectively while keeping to tight deadlines.
* Ability to work with minimal supervision to complete daily queries on time and with accuracy.
* Familiarity with the end-to-end P2P process and financial IT/ERP systems and related processes.
* Experience with Oracle Fusion or a similar finance system.
* Knowledge of purchase ledger processes and supplier management.
* Understanding of accountancy principles related to payments and liabilities.
Details:
* Rate: £200.00 per day (inside IR35)
* Working Hours: Full time, Monday - Friday
* Location: Hybrid, Birmingham (2 days per week)
* Duration: Until end of June 2025
Role of Accounts Payable Finance Assistant:
* Identify invoices processed and paid in compliance with the purchase-to-pay policy.
* Coordinate with all areas of the business to ensure queries are resolved, liaising with external suppliers and stakeholders as necessary, and participate in regular meetings to keep stakeholders informed if invoices cannot be processed and paid.
* Record all invoices by obtaining regular statements from suppliers and ensuring they are fully reconciled.
* Enter invoices and VAT accurately across assigned supplier accounts and manage them effectively.
* Closely monitor unmatched receipts and unmatched invoice levels, taking follow-up action to ensure invoices are cleared for payment in a timely manner.
* Process all invoices that have failed to process through the workflow due to lack of PO, receipt, or approval, liaising with stakeholders and suppliers to resolve issues.
* Take ownership of a portfolio of suppliers to ensure all invoices, statements, queries, and payments are managed in a timely manner.
* Upload Land Access schedules daily.
* Respond to all queries within the 48-hour SLA.
* Ensure critical suppliers are paid in line with cash forecasts.
* Resolve all invoices on hold.
* Address all invoices and supplier issues that have been removed from the payment run.
