The Assistant Site Manager will work on a full-time basis and will lead the site teams and subcontractors in undertaking the required tasks and will be accountable for the management and planning of sub-contract labour, supporting the delivery of refurbishment programmes.
Projects include medium-rise residential blocks, the replacement of combustible EWI systems with fire-compliant alternatives, and additional fire protection measures. You'll also be involved in general improvement works such as window and door replacements, fire soffit replacement, fire stopping, electrical upgrades, balcony repairs, and decorations.
The Project
Ensure inspections are properly recorded on the appropriate prescribed forms of certification and reporting.
• To ensure that works instructions issued to trades or subcontractors are clear, unambiguous and represent a full and fair days’ workload, at all times seeking to maximise productivity.
• Enforce H&S procedures and policies.
• Carry out Ad Hoc safety inspections on supply chain partners.
• Carry out Quality Inspections on all works.
• Ensure PAT testing of office equipment and plant is current.
• Managing the Welfare facilities on site.
• Experience of managing construction projects at Assistant Site Manager level
• IT skills including the Microsoft Office package
• CSCS Card
• Full UK driving licence and the flexibility to undertake regular travel
Experience in social housing repairs and maintenance
• SMSTS
• Knowledge or an understanding of EWI / external cladding replacement and fire compliance works in a residential tower block setting
