Associate Director – Design Group
South West Norse is a specialist property and construction consultancy, providing expertise in architecture, surveying, engineering, and estates and asset management services to a range of public and private sector clients across the UK.
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for an Associate Director to join the team in our Exeter office. In this position, you will make a significant contribution to the continued growth of South West Norse as well as developing a design capability, responsible for the creation and implementation of projects and ensuring that the design team delivers projects on time and within budget.
Main Responsibilities
1. Supporting the relevant director in establishing overall design vision, philosophy, and work process for client projects and design teams
2. Supporting the coordination of projects and facilitating communications within the various project teams in a multi-disciplinary environment
3. Ensuring that the Architectural function delivers the Architectural business plan, objectives and targets including agreed profit margin
4. Putting in place and maintaining monthly architectural resource management plans
5. Meeting clients to take the initial brief on projects and communicating this to the design team
6. Providing inspirational leadership, management and direction in a manner consistent with the Group’s values
Our Successful Candidate
You will be expected to be able to demonstrate a blend of commercial experience, professional training and industry knowledge to be successful in this position, highlighted by:
1. Extensive experience in a similar or related role
2. Understanding of Business Planning, Commercial Risk Management and Financial Management
3. Familiarity with the relevant construction, health and safety legislation and risks and hazards associated with asbestos
4. Demonstrable success in securing new business opportunities
5. Holds a current site card or is prepared to immediately attain
6. Professional membership of the Architects Registration Board and Chartered Membership of the Royal Institute of British Architects
7. Bachelor’s Degree in an Architectural related discipline
8. Full UK Driving Licence
