We're currently working with a leading global law firm looking for an AML Monitoring Analyst to join a dynamic and globally recognized professional services firm on a 24-month fixed-term contract. Based in Sheffield, with hybrid working options, this role is ideal for individuals looking to advance their careers in risk and compliance, with a focus on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF). About the Role
As an AML Monitoring Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the firm meets its regulatory obligations regarding ongoing client due diligence and AML compliance. The position involves working closely with partners and compliance teams to assess and update client risk profiles, conduct due diligence checks, and provide support on regulatory matters. You will be part of a highly respected Ongoing Monitoring Team responsible for safeguarding the firm’s reputation and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct detailed risk assessments of existing clients, monitoring for any changes to risk profiles.
* Liaise with partners and other stakeholders on client due diligence matters, providing guidance and addressing issues.
* Perform company and press searches to identify potential risk factors, including negative press or sanctions exposure.
* Support the Deputy Money Laundering Officer with general AML-related queries and the administration of client due diligence issues.
* Assist with research projects and day-to-day compliance tasks as regulatory requirements evolve.
* Ensure the firm’s client database is up to date, accurate, and compliant with regulatory standards.
* Collaborate with team members to ensure best practices and regulatory knowledge are shared across the department.
Ideal Candidate Profile
To succeed in this role, candidates should demonstrate the following:
* Degree-level education or equivalent professional qualifications in KYC/AML/Compliance.
* Prior experience in a compliance role, particularly within a professional services environment.
* Strong understanding of the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 and the EU’s 5th Money Laundering Directive.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Outlook) and familiarity with case management systems.
* Ability to research, analyze, and make informed decisions on risk and compliance matters.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Strong time management and multitasking skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy.
* A genuine interest in developing expertise in AML, risk, and compliance.
