Metalis is partnering with a well-established manufacturing company seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Process Engineer to join their expanding team. This opportunity has arisen due to significant business growth and a robust order book.
Role Overview:
Lead, inspire and improve. Apply skills and learning to understand and monitor processes, with the aim to design and implement effective improvements that support departmental business plans. Have a clear understanding of the business to support the day-to-day running of departmental activities. Invest knowledge and understanding to the workforce, through training and regular communication. Lead and inspire the teams to instil confidence, competence and consistency.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Reduce workplace hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
2. Design new systems, equipment and processes for the introduction of new products or the improvement of existing ones, ensuring all documentation is relevant and up to date.
3. Support and lead Continuous Improvement projects, driving out waste, reducing downtime and improving OTIFEF delivery to customers.
4. Target inefficiencies quickly using problem-solving techniques such as A3 and Root Cause Analysis.
5. Support, cost estimate and document all engineering changes.
6. Ensure non-conformances within production are identified, eliminated and controls are in place to prevent re-occurrences.
7. Ensure all manufacturing processes are supported by the necessary training, documentation and Quality Controls.
8. Project manage the introduction of new machinery, ensuring training, documentation and specifications are correct.
9. Understand the requirements of modern machinery ensuring compliance with current legislation and best practice.
10. Demonstrate an understanding of current environmental legislation, and future trends.
11. Have the ability to clearly and efficiently communicate vital engineering updates and changes to all levels within the business.
12. Create, improve, and review Standard Operating Procedures.
13. Carry out targeted improvement events through the use of data and Root Cause analysis.
14. Review results gained from improvements to ensure objectives have been achieved.
Knowledge and Previous Experience:
1. Minimum 5 years experience in a quality engineering role.
2. Energetic and positive approach with a can-do attitude.
3. Proven work experience in process engineering.
4. Excellent technical skills with working knowledge of process engineering software packages.
5. Knowledge of process-related standards.
6. Experience in ISO9001 and ISO14001.
7. Ability to understand and create drawings.
8. Formal Lean training.
9. Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills, a strong influencer with a desire to progress.
Pay and Hours:
39 hours per week
7:00-16:00 Monday - Thursday, 7:00-15:00 on Fridays
