We are seeking a skilled 2nd/3rd Line IT Support Engineer with a strong focus on Microsoft 365 and SharePoint administration to join our Crusade Technical Team. This role involves delivering expert IT support and solutions to our clients across the Midlands, both remotely from our office and onsite.
You will be responsible for managing and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 environments, including SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange, and Intune, as well as handling networking, cloud services, and security solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer who excels in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and IT infrastructure support while maintaining a strong customer-service approach.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide 2nd/3rd line IT support for escalated technical issues.
2. Act as a Microsoft 365 and SharePoint specialist, supporting deployments, migrations, and administration.
3. Manage Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, and Group Policy configurations.
4. Configure and maintain SharePoint Online, ensuring best practices for site structure, permissions, and workflows.
5. Administer and support Microsoft 365 services (Exchange, Teams, OneDrive, Intune).
6. Support cloud solutions (Azure, AWS) and contribute to migration projects.
7. Maintain virtualised environments (Hyper-V, VMware).
8. Configure and troubleshoot networking (TCP/IP, VLANs, L3 routing, LAN/WAN).
9. Deploy and manage WatchGuard firewalls, including VPN configurations.
10. Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions (VEEAM, N-Able Cloud, Backup Exec, Altaro).
11. Manage email filtering platforms, endpoint security (ESET, WatchGuard), and email branding solutions (Exclaimer, CodeTwo).
12. Support WordPress-based websites and assist with web content management.
13. Assist with network cabling and infrastructure projects.
14. Provide occasional Apple Mac support where required.
15. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and complete tasks within agreed time scales.
Required Skills & Experience
1. 4+ years’ experience in an IT support or engineering role.
2. Expertise in Microsoft 365 administration, including SharePoint Online, Exchange, and Teams.
3. Experience managing SharePoint permissions, workflows, and document management.
4. Strong troubleshooting skills across Microsoft desktop and server environments.
5. Hands-on experience with WatchGuard firewall management.
6. Proficiency in networking (VLANs, L3 routing, QoS, ACLs, VPNs, etc.).
7. Familiarity with virtualisation (Hyper-V, VMware).
8. Ability to communicate complex technical issues in plain language.
9. Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
10. A proactive, adaptable approach with a willingness to learn new technologies.
11. Must hold a valid, clean UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work-related travel.
12. Willingness to travel 50% of the time to client sites across the Midlands.
Pay: £27,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
