Job Description
Role: Principal/Senior Electronics Design Engineer
Location: Middlewich (on-site 3 days per week)
Salary: £55,000-75,000 + 10% pension contribution (conditional)
Full-time (36 hours per week)
We are seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to join the development team. As a Design Engineer, you will work in a multi-disciplinary team to specify and deliver a range of key objectives to support and develop products.
Key Skills:
1. Extensive practical experience of electronics design using analogue, FPGAs, micro-controllers, and associated firmware.
2. Experience of low-noise systems.
3. Experience of analogue circuit design.
4. Experience of high voltage power supply design.
5. Experience of switching circuits.
6. Ability to design complex multi-layer surface-mount PCBs for low noise and high voltage.
7. Programming in C, C++, C#.
8. Experience of product validation and certification for international markets (CE, UL, etc).
Desirable Skills:
1. Experience of PCB schematic capture and PCB layout ideally with Altium Designer.
2. Experience with ARM processors, Xilinx/Altera (Intel) VHDL FPGA design.
3. Understanding of Design for Manufacture.
4. Understanding of RF design techniques.
5. Hands-on experience of troubleshooting individual boards/units and these units within a larger system.
Responsibilities Include:
1. Specification, simulation, and productionisation of electronic hardware.
2. Meeting mission and time-critical deadlines for product delivery.
3. Assisting specification and delivery of new product development.
Ideally you will have:
1. Project management methodologies, tools, and techniques including requirements definition.
2. Ability to work independently as well as in an environment of teamwork and collaboration.
3. Ability to meet and coordinate multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
4. Ability to function as a team member.
5. Excellent organisational and time management skills.
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
7. Honours Degree in Electronics or related scientific discipline.
8. Knowledge of physics.
9. Experience with scientific instrumentation.
