The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality training sessions, ensuring that all staff are competent in moving and handling techniques whilst being able to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills working as part of our care team. This role will also involve presenting other associated short training courses as required. The position requires regular travel between multiple sites, thus a valid driver's license and access to a car are essential. Observation and Assessment : Conduct day and night shift observations to assess and ensure proper moving and handling practices are being followed. Course Development : Update and create training materials and programs to reflect current best practices and regulatory requirements. Additional Training : Present other related training courses as required, such as Falls Prevention and Footcare Record Keeping : Maintain accurate records of training sessions, attendance, and staff competency levels. Travel : Regular travel between sites in Glasgow, South Lanarkshire, and North Lanarkshire and occasionally Dundee. A valid driver's license and access to a car are necessary. Reporting : Provide regular reports to the Learning & Development Manager on training progress, staff competency, and any issues or observations. Support and Guidance : Offer ongoing support and guidance to care home staff, addressing any moving and handling concerns or queries. Compliance : Ensure all training complies with current legislation and regulatory standards. Requirements: Proven experience as a Moving and Handling Trainer, preferably within the care home or healthcare sector. Relevant certifications or qualifications in moving and handling training.(Train the Trainer Certificates in Manual Handling) Strong knowledge of current legislation and best practices in moving and handling. Experience in developing and delivering training programs. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexibility to work across a 7-day period, including day and night shifts as required. Full UK driving license and access to a car.
