The purpose of a Planning Officer is to work closely with the Senior Planner and Planning Supervisor to ensure that aircraft within our fleet and organisation remain in compliance with all relevant airworthiness regulations and standards. This role involves planning and overseeing activities related to the airworthiness of aircraft, which includes maintenance, inspections, modifications, and repairs.
As such, the Planning Officer plays a pivotal role in contributing to and safeguarding the overall safety and reliability of aircraft airworthiness and operations.
Key Responsibilities
The following list of responsibilities is not exhaustive (see ‘Other Duties’ below):
* Assist in the creation of work packs making sure they are issued in a timely manner with the latest revision of Forms from the database / Data Airbus World. This applies to maintenance work packs for all aircraft and in all locations, ranging from a few tasks through to a C Check.
* Liaise with CAMO / MOC for content of work packs.
* Ensure that all work packs, forms and task cards are kept updated as required.
* Manage the aircraft storage and parking checks – Boeing / Airbus.
* Assist by checking the Planning Procedure prior to publication.
Other Duties
* As directed by the Continuing Airworthiness Manager and as considered necessary to meet the day-to-day, ongoing requirements of the business.
* Support Heavy Maintenance Checks away from base.
Person Specification & Criteria
* Prior experience in aviation and a solid understanding of aviation regulations and industry standards as well as aircraft maintenance procedures and documentation.
* Understand the Planner's role within the company.
Knowledge and Skills
* Competent in Microsoft Office: Excel / Word / Outlook / TEAMS.
* Have a good understanding of Industry Standards, Best Practices and Aviation Regulations as required by EASA and UK CAA including Part CAMO, Part-145, Part–21, Part–M, CAP–562 and CAP–747.
* Able to work in a team and independently on own initiative, while under pressure.
* Flexible and adaptable with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively.
* Strong communication skills to collaborate with all internal departments and external companies as necessary.
* Able to listen to instruction and execute tasks competently.
* Input into improvement / development of the Planning Department and have eagerness to learn and grow in the field of aircraft maintenance planning.
* Right to live and work in the UK.
* Ability to pass Company background and criminal record checks.
