Head of SHEQ - Navenby - 55/57k + benefits
ALH Recruitment are looking to recruit a Head of SHEQ for our client based close to the Navenby area in Lincolnshire.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Drive and champion the company's health, safety and environment strategic plans, aims and objectives and strive to continuously improve the health and safety culture within the organisation.
2. Manage and ensure that the highest standards of health and safety are always maintained.
3. Review and manage health, safety and environment policies and procedures.
4. Review risk assessments, method statements and COSHH assessments.
5. Review Construction Phase Plans and associated documentation prior to project commencement.
6. Undertake site inspections and audits, identifying areas for improvement and reporting on the findings.
7. Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the company's health, safety and environment management systems.
8. Ensure the company's management systems are formally accredited to ISO45001, 14001 & 9001 by the end of 2025.
9. Oversee the implementation of an electronic quality management portal.
10. Carry out regular health and safety inspections both on site and within office premises.
11. Ensure compliance on all sites in line with both legal and best practice requirements.
12. Conduct training, toolbox talks, inductions and investigate incidents where required.
13. Attend site and management meetings as and when required.
14. Visit live projects to ensure compliance and consistency is achieved.
15. Work collaboratively with external and internal departments to ensure smooth running of health and safety on site and in office locations, taking appropriate action to address issues or concerns in a timely manner.
16. Ensure all company accreditations (CHAS, Constructionline, Safe contractor, Avetta, Achillies, Eco-Vardis and others) are maintained.
17. Attend SHEQ meetings to review project and business performance.
18. Manage and undertake internal accident/incident investigations.
19. Ensure all subcontractors PQQ are assessed for their suitability and eligibility to undertake works on our behalf.
20. Line management of a team of three.
Experience Required:
1. Proven, minimum 5 years previous experience within a UK construction H&S role.
2. In-depth knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations and other relevant Health and Safety legislation.
3. Proven track record of successfully managing and overseeing health and safety programs for construction-related companies.
