We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated Band 6 senior Radiographer to join our radiology department based in CT.
The CT service is over four sites, King George and Queens which provide acute and elective scanning and Barking Community Hospital and St Georges in Hornchurch which are elective only scanning on a modular unit.
It is essential that you are a good communicator and good team player. You must be capable of working unassisted, within a team in and taking the lead in organising the day to day running within the modality. You will form part of a team of staff in the Imaging Department responsible for the provision of a safe, efficient, high quality service working in accordance with Imaging Department and Trust protocols. The post holder will be expected to maintain and develop high standards of patient care amongst all users of imaging services.
The successful candidate will support the Imaging Department team in achieving the departmental and Trust objectives and will supervise and advise junior staff.
You will be required to work flexibly – weekday/weekend and participate in out of hour’s standby rota, as we are a 7-day working department.
All new staff appointed to posts at the Trust will be subject to a 6 month probationary period. This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the culture and working environment of the Trust.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will participate in the effective running of the CT department under the direction of the senior staff, ensuring delivery of high quality patient care.
In liaison with the senior radiographers the post holder will provide supervision of junior staff, students and assistant practitioners.
Person specification
Education/ Qualifications
* Hold BSc in Diagnostic Radiography, College of Radiographers Diploma or equivalent. Recognised by the College of Radiographers.
* Current HCPC Registration.
* Postgraduate certificate in CT or equivalent.
Experience/ Knowledge
* Experience of working with different CT scanner vendors
* Experience in cross sectional imaging
