We are seeking a Head of Monitoring to support our Risk, Legal & Compliance teams. This is a great opportunity for someone who has the expertise to provide compliance oversight across the Howden UK&I structure, supporting us in maintaining compliance with the requirements of industry and government lead regulation. Our compliance team is based in Gloucester and travel maybe required to attend other local offices. Please note this is a full-time, permanent opportunity. You will be based in our Gloucester office and be onsite for between 2-3 days per week.
Overview:
1. Design and deliver robust monitoring frameworks, methodologies and programmes.
2. Manage assigned projects and contribute to other projects as required.
3. Provide relevant and timely management information to the Chief Compliance Officer and the Senior Management of the Howden UK&I businesses.
4. To contribute to the Howden UK&I Compliance Plan.
5. Work with senior operational management to ensure that compliance systems and controls remain appropriate.
6. Work with the Risk Management Function to deliver support in relation to regulatory risk.
Knowledge:
7. Experience of working in Policy Advisory/Monitoring/Remediation/Assurance across different aspects of financial services/financial markets.
8. Strong knowledge of FCA requirements specifically relating to health, benefits and life products, within both ICOBs and COBs.
9. Good knowledge of FCA requirements in relation to investment, pension and mortgage products.
10. Able to apply judgement from a regulatory perspective to internal and market information.
Skills:
11. Strong experience of developing monitoring frameworks using a variety of desk based and field-based tools.
12. Leading a compliance team.
13. Working with Board level management, combined with strong leadership and influencing skills. Comfortable interacting with senior stakeholders.
14. Ability to write concise and impactful reports. Comfortable gathering, analysing and evaluating facts, as well as preparing and presenting concise oral and written reports.
15. Strong regulatory focus.
Qualifications:
16. Industry recognised compliance qualifications beneficial but not essential.
17. GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
