We have an exciting opportunity for more band 5 nurses to join our busy, friendly teams on wards 15. We provide high quality care to respiratory patients with a wide variety of needs. We are currently working on a tailored training programme for nurses to be upskilled to a high standard. No previous experience in respiratory medicine needed as training and education will be provided. If you are successful, you will have to opportunity to complete our outstanding preceptorship programme alongside lots of inhouse training the hospital has to provide. • To provide effective, professional and managerial leadership to staff in the absence of the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse and/or Senior Staff Nurse.
To be the ward representative if the Ward Sister/Charge Nurse and/or Senior Staff Nurse are unavailable.
• To ensure that all lines of communication are identified and used effectively; to maintain a high standard of nursing care within the framework of the Trust policies.

· To undertake specific responsibilities individually negotiated to reflect the practitioners’ skills and interests and the needs of the ward.
· To develop high standards of nursing care, reflecting the beliefs about nursing practice outlined in the ward philosophy.
· To contribute to the continuing development of the ward, helping with implementation and evaluation of new projects/developments.
