Configuration Manager - Major Projects - Old Oak Common - London
Balfour Beatty has an amazing opportunity for a Configuration Manager to join our amazing Major Projects team to work at our iconic Old Oak Common development in London.
HS2s new c. 1 billion Old Oak Common station will become the UKs best-connected rail
station once completed. Our Balfour Beatty VINCI SYTRA joint venture will be responsible for the final design, construction, and commissioning of the station in Northwest London.
Upon completion, the new station will boast six underground platforms and up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line. Old Oak Common will also provide highspeed rail services to the Midlands, central London, Scotland, and the North, as well as direct services to three major airports. Incorporating passenger and retail facilities, the new station will provide an exceptional customer experience for both passengers and visitors to the station.
As a Configuration Manager you will Define, maintain and implement the Configuration Management plan, processes and procedures (incl. maps & templates). Ensuring the defined process responds to & is compliant with HS2 and BBVS configuration management requirements. Liaising & coordinating with Lead Designer and HS2 counterpart Configuration Managers and technical assurance leads to agree plans, processes and procedures.
What you'll be doing
Some key responsibilities will be:
* Development and implementation of project Configuration Management Plans
* Implementation of the necessary Configuration Management activities for client approval in accordance with the Configuration Management Plan.
* Ensure sub-contractor teams (Design & Construction) are following the Configuration Management plan and be a Configuration Management point of contact for HS2, supply chain, stakeholders and third parties.
* Review project documentation and ensure it complies with Project Requirements
* Quality assurance of Configuration Status Reports in support of project Design assurance process
* Liaise with Requirements and Assurance Engineers in preparation of Single Assurance Pack (SAP) submissions for client approval assurance leads to agree plans, processes and procedures
* Define and lead audits / surveillance of work package implementation and outputs
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
* Experience working in configuration management and software configuration management on Projects
* Familiarity with the concepts of asset management
* Experience with large-scale infrastructure projects
* Excellent communications skills
* Familiar with various database tools e.g. projectwise, BC, eB
