Covering Reading and North London Salary: £25k - £27k van fuel allowance 7.5 hours per day Monday-Friday between 6am-6pm – O/T available when needed 22 hours holidays Bank Holidays, building to 25 over 7 years As a Water Hygiene Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out water hygiene monitoring, testing, and maintenance tasks to ensure compliance with current regulations. Your role will be critical in safeguarding public health by ensuring the cleanliness and safety of water systems. Key Responsibilities: Perform regular water hygiene monitoring and testing, including temperature checks, sampling, and inspections of water systems. Conduct cleaning and disinfection of water systems, including tanks, cooling towers, and other equipment. Ensure all water systems comply with current regulations and standards, identifying and addressing any non-compliance issues. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all monitoring, testing, and maintenance activities. Communicate effectively with clients, providing detailed reports and expert advice on water hygiene issues. Work closely with other team members to deliver integrated water hygiene solutions. Tank replacements (dependent on experience). Shower head descales. Deadleg removals and pipework replacements. Water sampling and temperature testing. Closed system analysis. Carry out any plumbing repairs in commercial, healthcare, education and domestic settings. Key Requirements: Previous experience in water hygiene or a related field is preferred. Good understanding of water hygiene regulations and best practices. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. City & Guilds Level 3 in Plumbing, or equivalent qualification an advantage. Experience undertaking routine monitoring tasks in line with HSG 274. Ability to communicate clearly at all levels both internally and externally. Background in Building Services or Environmental Consultancy preferable. Basic IT skills are expected. Effective interpersonal, teamwork and organisational skills. Efficient and responsive. Flexibility to workload, hours and travel. Excellent timekeeping. Full, clean driving licence.
