Description About the role We have an exciting opportunity for a Garden Services Apprentice covering Stockport and the local surrounding areas. This is a full-time position, working Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week, between 8am – 4pm. You will be supported by Guinness staff to undertake the role of Garden Services Apprentice. You will be committed to complete your studying as the hours do not include all practical work. You will receive dedicated support and teaching from your YMCA Tutor to achieve a Level 2 Horticulture Apprenticeship qualification over 2 years. The successful candidate will assist in the provision of a high-quality Estate Service, interacting with customers to deliver a professional cleaning, gardening and grounds maintenance service. Grounds Maintenance Tasks: Lawn mowing/Lawn care Border management Hedge cutting Planting and Pruning Strimming Litter picking Project works, such as redesigning areas of the scheme for improvements Bin store management and bulk waste removal when necessary Key duties: Cleaning Tasks: Cleaning internal communal areas Floor cleaning, such as mopping duties Deep cleaning using mechanical tools Cleaning communal bin store areas You’ll also need to develop positive working relationships with customers, colleagues, and contractors to improve the overall appearance of Guinness estates. You will operate, store, and maintain equipment to comply with Guinness Health and Safety procedures including COSHH, PPE and prompt reporting of incidents on site. And deliver services to standards and specifications, ensuring awareness of the need to deliver a cost-effective service to customers. The successful candidate will be: Able to carry out physical tasks within Health and Safety guidelines Able to work effectively within a team Ability to use all equipment safely and effectively Able to deliver great customer service An excellent communicator with written and verbal skills A holder of GCSE Maths and English grades A - E or equivalent Qualifications Desirable: Level 2 in Maths and English or the ability to complete these with support by the end of the Apprenticeship.
