Job Description
Morrison Energy Services is currently looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager to work on our Electrical Transmission frameworks, nationwide, with the initial project being based in the Somerset/Devon area.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be part of our Electrical Transmission management team responsible for managing the civil and delivery teams of the Grid EPC Substations and RIIO-T2 Frameworks throughout the UK.
Our Electrical Transmission business unit works on behalf of clients including Grid and SSE on a range of Infrastructure Project Development and EPC Capital projects.
As a Senior Project Manager, your duties & responsibilities will include:
1. Leading the construction team in delivering a portfolio of projects through the end-to-end process from project initiation to completion.
2. Strategic health, safety, and environmental management and leadership to drive the highest standards.
3. Delivery of the projects portfolio to the agreed time, cost, and quality requirements.
4. Working closely with the planning team to ensure delivery programmes are in place and progress is monitored.
5. Driving the Project team ethos to ensure the Construction Manager, Commercial Manager, Design Lead, and Project Engineers function as a cohesive management team.
6. Driving risk management for the Projects.
7. Providing leadership and guidance on technical and contractual matters to ensure timely resolution.
8. Contributing to new contract tender bids using industry knowledge.
9. Supporting the preparation of monthly CVR in conjunction with the Commercial Manager.
10. Being commercially astute, leading the management team to deliver the balanced scorecard and meet/exceed contract financial terms and targets.
Skills & Knowledge Requirements:
1. Previous project management experience gained within electrical infrastructure.
2. Knowledge of the Electrical Transmission and Distribution industry is essential.
3. Able to demonstrate ownership of a portfolio of projects of varying values and complexities.
4. Effective communication skills.
5. Effective relationship management skills.
6. Appreciation and understanding of commercial management.
7. Flexible and adaptable.
8. Able to work autonomously and collaboratively.
9. Hold a relevant Project Management qualification or equivalent.
10. A full driving licence and willingness to travel frequently.
