NeuroSupport Services are currently recruiting Support Workers and Healthcare Assistants with a background in Brain Injury and Mental Health experience to support service users with an acquired Brain Injury. Our service aims to support rehabilitation and enable people to optimize independence and quality of life.
We are looking for psychology graduates, support workers, and healthcare assistants or suitable candidates who would be willing to support people both within their home environment and also in helping service users access the community. We are looking for candidates that are confident in working independently and providing empirical feedback where necessary.

Job Title: Support Worker
Location: Loughborough, LE11
Hourly Rate: £12.50-£14.00 per hour depending on experience.

Days & Hours:
5-hour shifts, 3 days per week (days & times flexible)
About you - Essential Experience:
Brain Injury experience. Preferably a support or therapy assistant with experience working with people who have ABI (Acquired Brain Injury). Someone with knowledge of OT and experience completing exercises and working towards achieving set goals would be ideal.
About our client:
Our client is a 45-year-old female who is in good health. She is a good communicator; however, she struggles to remain on track. Our client is vulnerable in the community, sharing personal information and considering them her friends. She is fiercely independent but has significant executive function difficulties, specifically a lack of awareness of time and a complete lack of structure to her day and sense of prioritization, meaning that tasks do not get completed successfully on time.
The client is very spiritual, and this is highly important to her. Conversation and some ritualistic behaviors are amplified post-injury, influencing the structure and importance of activities in her day. She is very keen on practices such as yoga, chanting, and meditation. She loves music and art.
What are the activities required?
Support with structuring her day and achieving daily activities of daily living including:
* Organizing travel to appointments/events
* Planning meals and mealtimes
* Implementing and practicing strategies as advised by OT/Neuropsychology
* Encouragement of exercises provided by Speech and Language therapist
* Reviewing and responding to emails
* Budgeting and financial management, support to pay bills
* Management of paperwork
* Organizing tradespeople for any house maintenance/repairs
* Support with ordering management of medication supplies/dosage
* Management/planning of meals (not actually preparing them)
Access to community activities:
* Planning and organizing routes
* Engaging in social activities such as singing, art, yoga, and the gym
* Support with completion of Jim Kwik course
* Motivation to engage the client with activities
* Support the client in the management of their emotions
Time Management:
* Supporting the client with staying on track with task completion
* Arrangements for travel
Successful Candidates will:
* Have access to full Training - including Brain Injury Awareness Training
* CPD opportunities
