Main duties of the job The successful post holder will be a named key worker with the expectation to work collaboratively with others to develop and use appropriate strategies and opportunities to share knowledge with, deliver interventions and influence the practice of colleagues within the Lung service. The role of the Lung and Mesothelioma Clinical Nurse Specialist is to be a dedicated key worker to adult patients diagnosed with a lung cancer, coordinating care between secondary and primary care, and between secondary and tertiary centres and providing continuity over time. The post holder will be responsible for the contributing to the on-going development of policies, protocols and guidelines and contribute to service developments in collaboration with multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure inequalities in care are addressed for the patients of Medway and Swale. To actively participate as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team; attend MDT meetings and weekly ward rounds.
