Overview
Gray AES is looking for a Sr. Robotics Engineer to join our team in our Lexington, KY office.
Responsibilities
* Design, develop and implement robotic-based automation systems for our industry-leading customers.
* Manage industrial projects from design through commissioning using current technology.
* Support and/or develop PLC and HMI programs of a given work cell to support the overall project completion.
* Interface and integrate machine vision solutions with oversight by vision engineers.
* Participate in proposals and estimates for projects, including leading research and analysis based on customer requests, specifications, or other information to assist in pre-project planning.
* Design automation systems based on provided solution descriptions, joint-design sessions with partners and/or customers, and the analysis of existing operations.
* Lead development of a well-documented and flexible robotic program in a standard programming language.
* Design and develop HMIs that are professional-looking with a simple common navigation structure, mentoring other team members on approach and standards.
* Ensure successful projects by working with or overseeing other team members, partners, or customers as needed in design and development responsibilities.
* Lead development of solutions to support testing and commissioning activities as required by customers and partners.
* Maintain close relationships with our customers to understand their opportunities and ensure they understand Gray Solutions’ capabilities.
* Provide on-site commissioning support and customer training as required, including the supervision of other team members and partners.
* Communicate, implement, and enforce our safety program on-site.
* Develop the technical skills of other team members, with potential direct supervision or management of team members.
* Establish strong cross-functional relationships between the customer and all engineering/project team disciplines.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
* Degree in engineering or related relevant experience in factory automation.
* 5-7 years of demonstrated professional work experience.
* Regular travel is expected, depending on the location of projects and customers, the stage of project execution, and your role in the project.
* Project-based travel can range from 15-25% during the design phase, 0-10% during the implementation phase, and 40-75% during installation and commissioning phases.
