The Opportunity:
Job Opportunity: Payroll Specialist – UK & IRE – Avantor
Avantor is looking for an immediately available Interim Payroll Specialist based at our Head office location in Lutterworth on a hybrid basis.
Team Structure
Reporting to the HR Manager UK & IRE, the Payroll Specialist will be part of a team of 10 HR Professionals.
Qualifications
* Education: CIPP / IPASS Certification (desired)
* Experience: 5 + years UK/IRE payroll experience
* Experience using third party payroll vendors such as ADP
* Experience with Workday PECI integrations (desired)
* Strong organisational skills
* Strong interpersonal skills
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Team player
* Ability to respond to internal requests for support and assistance in a prompt and professional manner and prioritise/ re-prioritise appropriately
* Strong time management, problem-solving and analytical skills
* Advanced proficiency in Excel
* Multilingual capabilities will be beneficial
How You Will Thrive and Create Impact
* Ensure that all employees are paid accurately and on time, ensuring compliance in line with local laws as well as internal company policies.
* Assume full responsibility for the checking of trial and final payroll outputs which includes payslips, gross to net reports, monthly variance analysis, payment files and statutory filings.
* Ensure accurate month-end reporting including the creation and reconciliation of payroll journals & support the finance team with open queries.
* Process off-cycle payments including final salary, bonuses and commissions.
* Provide hands-on support to queries received from employees, HR, supervisors, managers and the local government office (HMRC/Revenue) in a timely manner.
* Ensure all statutory filings, tax returns, and statutory reports required by law are submitted in line with monthly and annual filings.
* Keep up to date on UK / IRE local legislation. In collaboration with the external payroll vendor, ensure compliance across all payrolls.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports for internal stakeholders, including finance and HR.
* Responsible for internal and external audit queries.
* Ensure all documentation is kept up to date.
* Support internal and external payroll audit requests.
* Demonstrate complete discretion and confidentiality.
* Assist with other payroll and accounting projects such as new entity set ups, payroll system integrations, HRIS system enhancements.
