Accounts Assistant Edgbaston, Birmingham £28,000 - £35,000 per annum (flexible depending on experience) Permanent position Role Summary A well-respected and highly successful property development company based in the central area of Birmingham, are currently looking for an AAT qualified Accounts Assistant to work closely with the Finance Manager carrying out all manner of accounts and administrative duties to ensure the daily smooth running of the department. This Accounts Assistant role will involve the following responsibilities: Dealing with accounts payable including supplier statement reconciliations Assisting with credit control functions Raising invoices & Purchase Orders (PO's) daily and inputting onto the system Dealing with supplier and customer queries related to invoicing as required Assisting with petty cash and bank reconciliations Photocopying, scanning and collating of material relating to finance / accounts To assist with filing on a regular basis Entering work orders onto the computer system and raising job cards Answering the telephone, taking messages and passing calls onto relevant personnel Keeping inventory of office supplies and re-ordering when required Ensuring vehicle check sheets are completed and filed Dealing with the daily post Experience and skills required for this role include: Previous experience of working in an Accounts Assistant or Administration role is essential AAT qualification level 2, 3 or 4 is preferable (although other considerations may be made depending on other experience) Previous accounting experience including the use of Sage Accounting software (or similar etc) would be an advantage Previous reconciliations, invoicing and credit control experience is required Using Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook etc. Being able to work effectively as part of a team whilst also being able to use your own initiative Excellent communication skills both written and verbally – when dealing with colleagues, management or customers Organising your daily tasks effectively to ensure jobs are completed in an efficient manner Working Hours: Full time 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday) Hybrid role: A hybrid role may be considered for the right person, although the ability to attend the office 5 days per week would be a preference If you have the skills and previous experience required, and would like to work as part of a friendly and supportive team, then please apply with an up to date CV
