The hybrid role consists of two core strands of work, which at times may be independent and at others will seamlessly blend and crossover. We are looking for a talented individual with a deep passion and knowledge of contemporary and modern art, combined with solid marketing experience and an ‘eye on the prize’.
Role outline – Art Consultant
Alongside your marketing work, you will be supporting the company in its art research and art consultancy for projects.
* Tuned-in to the latest trends in the art market, savvy at identifying new talent and research-led in your approach.
* Knowledge of art history and wider movements, with an ability to proficiently contextualize about artists past and present.
* Support the team with its contextual research and development of artistic direction for the projects – a process which will inform the artwork direction.
* You will work in InDesign to produce presentations and client documents for consultancy work.
* Sound knowledge and understanding of artistic mediums, techniques, and materials.
* Eloquent, succinct, solid writing skills with a creative flair.
* Support on our new artist estate projects with cataloging systems and management.
* Feed your art knowledge and industry understanding into an effective marketing plan.
* Research, development, and execution of successful SEO strategies and online presence.
* Sophisticated and technical art and design-related writing with solid SEO structuring.
* Expertise with other online platforms, such as Pinterest and LinkedIn.
* LinkedIn marketing through creation of video posts & article sharing in Buffer scheduler, identifying new opportunities to develop LinkedIn strategy.
* New research and development in this field of SEO, social media, and online marketing.
* Research and develop new marketing opportunities in the widest sense.
* Sales would form part of the marketing activity, actively researching and developing new leads and contacts in the industry.
Role outline – General
As a small company, you will also likely be involved in other more day-to-day and administrative tasks to support the wider team.
Criteria: Education & Experience
* Educated to degree level or Masters in either marketing, an arts-related subject (Fine Art, History of Art, Design) or English.
* Passion for modern and contemporary art, with demonstrable post-studies professional experience.
* Evidence of writing engaging and effective marketing material and articles.
* Evidence of writing academically rigorous and contextually relevant art and design essays/critiques.
* At least two years post-graduate experience working on successful marketing strategies.
* Particular knowledge and specialism in SEO and latest developments.
* Experience of tech, layout, and design work for websites and social media platforms, including Instagram, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.
* Good proficiency in software to include Adobe suite, in particular InDesign and Photoshop is desirable.
* Experience in visual content, to be able to handle and present images effectively.
