Ridings Sawmills is a successful longstanding family run Scottish business employing around 50 people, many of whom have worked with us for many years. We are embarking on a programme of machinery and systems upgrades to ensure the continued future success of the business. We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our engineering team (Back Shift).

This is a varied and interesting role, you will:-
Carry out proactive / reactive maintenance.
Support production to ensure breakdowns are addressed in a timely manner.
Troubleshooting and problem-solving engineering issues.
Communicate with others to ensure safe working at all times.
Working on own initiative and as part of a team.
Have a flexible approach to working hours to complete repairs & maintenance.
Always maintain good housekeeping.
Potential for progression / Chargehand Role
To be considered for this role you must have the following experience: - Time served / modern apprenticeship in an engineering discipline or equivalent.
Experience working within a fast-paced production environment on heavy industrial machinery.
Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
Working knowledge of conveyors, gearboxes & motors, hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical drive systems.
Multiskilled is very desirable in mechanical and electrical
Ability to communicate with others to ensure safe working environment.
Knowledge of PLC, controls and drives an advantage.
Ability to read, understand and work with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic drawings desirable
Experience in sawmilling is very desirable
Must have the legal right to work in the UK

Basic s alary up to £40K depending on experience plus allowances and shift pay as follows:
£2400 per annum flexibility allowance paid on top of basic salary and shift pay
40 hour basic week plus shift pay meaning equivalent to 48 hours paid
4 x 10 hour shifts per week Monday to Thursday 11.20 to 21.50
Weekend and shift working is required overtime rates paid
First 2 full weeks in July every year is the Mill maintenance shutdown, the fitting team are all required to work day shift plus overtime so no annual leave is allowed during this period.
Christmas off every year annual leave days to be kept
