We are seeking compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join teams at various school around Norfolk. The successful candidate will support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access the curriculum and reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. This role is for March 2025.
Duties as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN, including those with ASD, ADHD, Dyslexia, SEMH, and other learning needs.
* Assist teachers in adapting lessons and resources to meet individual student needs.
* Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student well-being.
* Help manage challenging behaviour using appropriate strategies.
* Support students with communication, social, emotional, and academic development.
* Work closely with the SENCO, teachers, and external specialists to implement Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Assist with personal care and mobility needs (if required).
Ideal SEN Teaching Assistant:
* Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN.
* A relevant qualification such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, NVQ in Childcare, or equivalent (desirable but not essential).
* A patient, empathetic, and understanding approach.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills as a SEN Teaching Assistant.
* Knowledge of SEND strategies, Makaton, PECS, or other communication methods (desirable).
* A DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
