The role although primarily based in East Yorkshire will involve travel to my clients sites across the UK and Europe. Role Overview: As the SHEQ Manager, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the SHEQ system to ensure compliance, continuous improvement, and the integration of best practices. You will oversee the Quality Management System (QMS), lead audits, manage certifications (ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001, ISO22000, GMP, SQAS, ISO28000), and develop strategies to drive SHEQ excellence across the Business Unit. You will also work closely with the wider SHEQ Team, Procurement and Business Unit teams, driving supplier performance, Support in the delivery of environmental and sustainability and delivering comprehensive SHEQ training to both internal teams and third-party partners. Additionally, you will manage incident investigations and report regularly on SHEQ performance to the Business Unit Management Team and the Group SHEQ Director. Key Responsibilities: Own and manage the SHEQ system, including the QMS, internal and external audits, and certifications. Lead the development and execution of the Dry Bulk SHEQ strategy, ensuring alignment with Group objectives. Champion the SHEQ Culture Program and drive engagement across operations. Oversee supplier audits, performance management, and collaborate with Procurement to refine supplier selection and approval processes. Develop and implement environmental and sustainability initiatives in line with Group strategies, including Operation Clean Sweep and alternative energy adoption. Lead incident investigations, conduct root cause analysis, and track corrective actions to improve safety. Provide regular reports on SHEQ performance, audits, and compliance status to the Business Unit Management Team. Skills & Knowledge: Expertise in SHEQ management systems, including ISO certifications (ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001, ISO22000, GMP, SQAS, ISO28000). Strong audit management experience, with a deep understanding of internal and external audit processes. Ability to develop and execute SHEQ strategies, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement. Proven experience in supplier performance management, including supplier audit programs and KPIs. Strong background in environmental regulations and sustainability initiatives. Experience in designing and delivering SHEQ training programs, using both traditional and e-learning methods. Excellent skills in incident investigation, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation. Outstanding communication and reporting skills, data to a broad range of people of the organisation from our Terminal Teams through to Senior Management, as well as our customers and suppliers. Strong collaboration and leadership skills, with a proven ability to drive change and engagement across teams. Qualifications & Experience: Degree or Diploma in SHEQ Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience in a SHEQ management role, preferably within the Food, Logistics, or Industrial sector. ISO certifications and experience in managing quality and environmental management systems.
