Job Title: Group Customs Administrator
Location: Port of Tilbury
Compensation: £22,000 - £26,000

About The Role
This role involves accurately preparing and submitting import and export customs declarations for both new and existing customers. You will ensure compliance with customs regulations, manage documentation, and collaborate with customers, shipping lines, and internal teams to resolve queries efficiently. The position also includes maintaining accurate records, supporting billing and accounts, and assisting with in-house customs compliance to facilitate the smooth import of goods.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Prepare and submit accurate customs declarations
* Analyse customer data for customs reporting
* Ensure compliance with customs regulations and documentation
* Coordinate with customers, shipping lines, and internal teams
* Maintain accurate records for audits and reporting
* Support billing, accounts, and month-end processes
* Assist with in-house customs compliance and VAT reporting
* Monitor and manage clearance requests and queries
* Adhere to internal customs procedures and standards

We are looking for someone eager to learn and grow, with a willingness to develop new skills, including customs knowledge, with full support from the team. While the role requires initial in-office work to learn from colleagues, there will be the option to work from home on a hybrid basis once fully settled.
Skills and experience required:
* Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts), Word, Teams, Outlook, databases, and CRM systems
* Ability to prioritise tasks and perform effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines
* Self-motivated with a proactive, problem-solving approach
* Confident communicator with a positive, collaborative mindset
* Results-driven with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service
