Detailed job description and main responsibilities
To deliver the therapeutic intervention and relevant clinical pathways to an identified caseload of people who present with complex emotional and relational needs, in line with the evidence base and best practice. Examples may include the SCM / MBT pathway and model, via individual and group sessions.
To demonstrate the application of specialist skills and knowledge in order to maintain professional competence and fitness to practice as a Senior Practitioner working with people who present with complex emotional and relational needs.
To demonstrate specialised clinical and practice expertise via therapeutic interventions (individual, group or family), supervision and modelling good practice.
To undertake and record comprehensive risk assessment, devise and implement risk assessment plans for service users at risk of vulnerability, self-harm, self-neglect, or risk of physical, sexual, emotional harm to others, ensuring compliance with the GMMH risk assessment processes.
To develop psychologically informed formulations of complex difficulties and the system around individuals to inform the MDT's treatment and management of these difficulties.
To provide direct evidence based therapeutic interventions as appropriate based on the recovery model, the personalisation agenda and a trauma informed perspective.
To develop and support the skills of other team members by providing specialised and structured clinical supervision, consultation and liaison work and opportunities for co-working.
Person specification
Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience of working with people who have a diagnosis of personality disorder
* Experience of working within inpatient or urgent care mental health services
* Experience of providing a supervisory role to staff
Desirable criteria
* Experience of delivering training
* Experience of working with high risk service users
Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Understanding of therapeutic approaches in managing crisis
* Knowledge and application of structured therapeutic interventions
Desirable criteria
* Knowledge and application of interventions in inpatient services
