Main duties of the job This is a senior role responsible for enabling and optimising the operational conduct of RM sponsored oncology studies in the research units. Responsible for oversight and management of a large RM sponsored portfolio, of both interventional and non-interventional, single and multicentre studies. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of working in clinical research setting with good management skills and expertise. Lead on overseeing the appropriate resourcing and management of RM sponsored studies including staff management of trial managers, costing of studies, contributing to grants, managing of grants, opportunities for income generation and performance management. As a key member of the Clinical Research Directorate the post holder will be responsible for conveying the requirements of the BRC and Joint Clinical R&D Core Services to clinical research staff within their allocated Clinical Unit and for supporting the Clinical Unit Research Lead in developing and maintaining the appropriate infrastructure for running and delivery of their trial portfolio in line with the RM/ICR research strategy.
