We are a Lower Manhattan restaurant seeking an experienced multi-tasking Floor Manager for an exciting opportunity to work at our “upscale-casual” location. Our priority is to provide our guests with exceptional food and beverage, while maintaining a lively atmosphere. The successful candidate will be performing the functions of the Floor Manager / Maître D and will possess the following skills and requirements:
1. A minimum of 2 years NYC relevant restaurant experience as a Floor Manager.
2. Strong communications and listening skills – the ability to effectively deliver accurate messaging to team and guests, be able to handle guests’ requests with the ability to problem solve and adjust to the needs of the guest.
3. The ability to multitask and maintain a hospitable and approachable demeanor, attention to details, and impeccable service standards in a high-volume environment.
4. Self-disciplined, shows initiative, possess leadership ability, and is outgoing.
5. The ability to lead the host team with effective mentoring and training.
6. Effective time management skills, be able to anticipate the needs of the guest.
7. Implement all marketing initiatives given by the owners.
8. Develop and maintain service standards and service sequence.
9. Supervise the maintenance and cleanliness of the facility on a daily basis.
10. Anticipate and attend to the guest’s needs and desires immediately to include special events like birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions.
11. Maintain an effective reservation system.
12. Ensure positive guest service in all areas. Respond to complaints, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
13. Maintain integrity of service, visit tables while on floor to solicit feedback.
14. Take restaurant bookings when required during service hours.
15. Possess a positive attitude, enthusiasm, creativity, integrity, and accountability.
16. The ability to interact and build relationships with guests and team members.
17. Strategically plot reservations, and appropriately accommodate walk-ins to ensure a smooth shift, ensure all requests and notes are communicated to the staff as guests are seated.
18. Must be able to perform both hands-on and service supervision of support staff.
19. Participate actively in service.
20. Knowledge of front of house operations and sanitation standards and must have the certificate in Food Protection.
21. Communicate with the kitchen regarding pace of service and special needs and general guest satisfaction.
22. The ability to stand for long periods of time and carry up to 25 lbs.
23. Perform administrative tasks as necessary for the operation.
24. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, consisting of but not limited to late nights, weekends, and holidays.
25. Experience with restaurant POS – Toast, Microsoft Office, RESY.
26. Attend and contribute to all scheduled meetings.
27. Promote & sell the restaurant in conjunction with the owners & develop opportunities.
28. Operate ethically to protect the image of the company.
29. Complete opening and closing procedures.
30. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance.
31. Serve as a role model and mentor by setting a positive example in all aspects of business and personnel management.
