Role Overview:
Joining our team as a Second Line IT Support Engineer, you will bring your extensive technical expertise to enhance this multi-faceted role. Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of tasks, from providing ticket support on the Helpdesk to executing project work and managing hardware maintenance. You'll also have the opportunity to visit client sites for both scheduled projects and reactive troubleshooting, demonstrating your commitment to delivering long-term, cost-effective solutions. Sharing your technical knowledge and mentoring junior engineers will be a source of personal satisfaction, while your approach to customer service will be characterized by professionalism, respect, and proactivity. Your proficiency will enable you to offer insightful recommendations to clients for genuine system improvements and upgrades. With an in-depth understanding of Windows technologies, including Windows Server and Desktop operating systems, you'll approach troubleshooting with a logical and methodical mindset, exploring innovative solutions to achieve optimal results.
Core Skills:
* Proficiency in Windows Server 2003-2019.
* Extensive experience with Windows Desktop XP-10.
* Knowledge of Hosted Desktop and Cloud computing.
* Skill in setting up terminal server farms.
* Competence in Office 365 tenant setup and administration.
* Expertise in VMWare/Hyper-V administration.
* Strong networking capabilities, encompassing DNS, routing, switching, and more.
* Preferred familiarity with VoIP, particularly 3CX.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
* Exposure to Cisco/Draytek firewalls.
* Familiarity with Apple products and their support.
* Proficiency in Group Policy administration.
* Ability to conduct cabling surveys and installations.
* Experience with Ubiquiti / Cisco Wireless technologies.
* Previous involvement in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) setting.
* Recognized accreditations (MCP’s, CompTIA, Apple).
