Clinical:
• To assist in the planning, implementation and delivery of wellbeing groups and interventions which include Wellbeing Yoga, Wellbeing Art Group and Animal Assisted Therapy
• To provide one-off welfare checks to residents at HMP Highdown in order to assist with appropriate management of needs, risk, and prioritisation. NB: you will not be expected to hold a caseload
• To feel confident and capable of working with residents with complex mental health experiences and neurodevelopmental needs
• To work collaboratively and creatively with the Senior STR Worker and other members of the Mental Health In-Reach Team and partner agencies.
• To attend and participate in relevant multi-disciplinary meetings, including weekly Mental Health In-Reach Zoning and MDT Discussion
• To work in a risk aware not risk adverse manner
• To support the day to day running of the Mental Health In-Reach Team by completing relevant organisational and administration tasks
• To contribute to the writing of reports for residents within the service and to maintain accurate and timely records
• To work in a trauma informed manner, acknowledging the adverse and diverse life experiences of the residents of HMP Highdown
• To demonstrate the ability to listen and communicate effectively and facilitate healthy relational experiences both within the Mental Health In-Reach Team and with residents of HMP Highdown
Professional:
• To dress and behave in a professional manner appropriate to the role and working environment of a prison setting
•. To maintain professional boundaries with residents at HMP Highdown
• To be able to function effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
• To liaise effectively across agencies.
• To fully participate in the Trust’s Appraisal review and personal development planning process on an annual basis.
• To develop skills and competencies that assist in the delivery of current duties
• Ensure residents and staff are treated with dignity and respect.
• To be aware of your responsibilities in working within the prison environment, being mindful of security and relevant policies/procedures
Training and Supervision:
• Undertake training as necessary in line with the development of the post and as agreed with your line manager as part of your continual professional development
• To complete and keep up to date with CNWL mandatory training
• To engage pro-actively in Supervision and Reflective Practice to support your professional development and maintain safe practice
Working Environment:
• The post holder will work within all areas of HMP Highdown.
• It may be expected that the post holder will work in other establishments and settings such as other Surrey Prisons.
• At all times the post holder will be aware of the security policies and procedures in relation to the management of the service and its environment.
