Key Responsibilities
* Work alongside the Registered Manager to deliver exceptional, therapeutic care in a safe, loving home.
* Lead a dedicated team to support children with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs.
* Oversee daily operations, ensuring high standards and contributing to the home's strategic development.
* Act as a positive role model, building trusting relationships that foster recovery and growth.
* Supervise and mentor staff, managing rotas and facilitating tailored training programmes.
* Coordinate with professionals to provide holistic care, including outings to theme parks and outdoor activities.
* Ensure compliance with Ofsted standards, safeguarding policies, and LD/autism-specific regulations.
* Manage budgets and resources to maintain a fun, functional environment.
* Work flexible shifts, including sleep-ins, to meet the home's 24/7 care needs.
Candidate Requirements
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in a residential children's home or adult supported living setting, with a focus on learning disabilities and autism.
* NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or Health and Social Care (Level 5 preferred or willingness to achieve).
* In-depth knowledge of Ofsted legislation, safeguarding, and best practices for LD/autism care.
* Proven leadership skills with a proactive, hands-on approach to team management.
* Experience managing budgets and staff rotas effectively.
* Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential).
* Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins, to support continuous care.
* Enthusiastic, driven, and committed to creating a safe, adventurous environment.
* Strong communication skills to connect with children, staff, and external stakeholders.
