Are you an experienced Senior Estate Surveyor looking for a dynamic role in estate management?
We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to play a key role in managing a diverse corporate property portfolio.
In this role, you will apply your landlord and tenant expertise to handle property contract negotiations, ensuring effective estate management and income retention. You will provide professional advice and recommendations to the Principal Surveyor/Manager and be responsible for maintaining strong landlord and tenant relationships.
The role also requires occasional attendance at council meetings and committees outside normal working hours.

What will you be doing?
As a Senior Estate Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing a diverse property portfolio and ensuring the effective delivery of estate management casework. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Handling lease renewals, rent reviews, freehold and leasehold disposals, licenses (including wayleaves), and general asset management to maximise estate value.
* Conducting routine valuations using RICS valuation methodology and advising the Principal Surveyor/Senior Asset Manager on recommendations.
* Procuring specialist valuations and technical advice, ensuring that terms align with the Council's needs.
* Managing telecommunication and utility negotiations, including easements and wayleaves.
* Maintaining accurate property records and supporting the asset valuation programme by liaising with external valuers, finance, and audit teams.
* Conducting site visits and inspections, resolving boundary disputes, and attending meetings with tenants, landowners, and surveyors.
* Mentoring Trainee Estate Surveyors, offering guidance on landlord and tenant matters and professional development.
Collaborating with legal, facilities, and external consultants, ensuring compliance with regulations and aligning with corporate objectives.
About you
As a Senior Estate Surveyor, you will bring a combination of technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to estate management.
You will have:
* A degree (or equivalent experience) in property, surveying, or a related field
* Experience in property inspections, including building pathology, as well as landlord and tenant matters
* A solid understanding of efficient and economic property use
* Strong IT literacy, including proficiency in property management systems and databases.
* The ability to manage multiple priorities
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the confidence to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
A diplomatic approach to managing expectations and resolving disputes.
