Time left to apply End Date: January 23, 2025 (11 days left to apply)
HOURS: Full Time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.
If you’re enthusiastic about working in an intensive, fast paced and high-profile bid role, this is the job for you!
About this opportunity
Insurance and Wealth helps personal and business customers with their long-term protection, retirement and investment needs. We support millions of customers with assets under administration and annuity payments in retirement every year.
You'll join us in the IP&I Bid Team, where we look after the development and execution of our winning Workplace Savings business. In your role, you and the team working on the tender, will demonstrate our understanding of the client, showcase our credentials and clearly articulate the benefits of choosing Scottish Widows and our value proposition.
You'll be a key player in several large New Business and Retention opportunities, focussed on building and managing proposal and presentation documents for prospective clients and existing clients. With responsibility for the look and feel of the initial proposal content, using the approved content database, you'll also have the opportunity to develop tailored graphics and illustrations for inclusion in proposals.
What you'll be doing:
* Manage the ‘document and design’ sub-project for any proposal – identify key dates / times and targets, and continually re-enforce these to the project team; identify document-related risks to the Bid Manager.
* Build the response template, based on the customer’s RFP and standard in-house templates or tailored designs for the specific deal.
* Ensure proposals are professionally laid-out and formatted, working with external designers on occasion for more strategic specific bids.
* Build and maintain standard re-usable document template(s) and supporting material e.g. biographies, awards.
* Support the completion of questionnaires linked to live bids e.g. proposition databases, due diligence questionnaires.
* Support creation and design of slides and other collateral for bid presentations, where appropriate.
What you’ll need:
* You can provide simple graphics illustration services; at least, with a ‘good eye for design’ and able to produce an attractive and well-laid-out document.
* Creative approach to identifying the best ways to present content in either a written response or through a presentation.
* Can build rapport with internal and external partners, demonstrating your ability to influence and lead.
* Confidence to call out potential key project deliverables which are at risk of being compromised.
And any experience of these would be really useful:
* Experience of working with Advanced Microsoft Office and Adobe skills including InDesign to design and present documents.
* Experience of producing bid proposal and presentation documents for clients.
* Background in workplace savings or pensions.
About working for us:
Our focus is to ensure we're inclusive every day, and build an organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms.
We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity or culture.
We were one of the first major organisations to set goals on diversity in senior roles, create a menopause health package, and a dedicated Working with Cancer initiative.
And it’s why we especially welcome applications from under-represented groups.
We’re disability confident. So if you’d like reasonable adjustments to be made to our recruitment processes, just let us know.
We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:
* A generous pension contribution of up to 15%.
* A discretionary annual performance-related bonus.
* Share schemes including free shares.
* Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping.
* 28 days’ holiday, with bank holidays on top.
* A range of wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies.
