We excited to advertise that we have a new Developmental Occupational Therapist role here in the Newbury Learning Disabilities Team.
As a Developmental Occupational Therapist, we will support you to complete the band 5 competency framework within an agreed timescale to progress to a band 6 role within 12-18 months.
In the role you will be responsible for a caseload of service users with complex needs, helping them to improve their confidence in day-to-day activities and therefor enabling them to function in their own homes and the community. You will also provide specialist assessments of occupational performance followed by planning, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based client centred intervention.
This position is for 32.5 hours per week, and we can offer flexible working within this as well as having some room for home working dependent on service need.
Primarily you will support the Newbury CTPLD team, however there may be occasions when you will be required to provide trust wide cover.

Main duties of the job
* Providing Occupational Therapy input for the Newbury Community Learning Disabilities Team
* Developing good working relationships with Adult Social Care, helping to provide the smooth provision of assistive technology
* Carry a complex, diverse caseload of people with learning disabilities under supervision of senior colleagues
* Contribute to the development and evaluation of the team
* Devise Occupational Therapy treatment plans and goals in collaboration with the service user, relative, carers and the interdisciplinary team
* Communicate effectively, share information appropriately and work collaboratively with the team, families, and other outside agencies
