Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit a Programme Director who will be responsible for ongoing leadership and day-to-day management on behalf of the Chief Executive and will act as Senor Responsible Officer (SRO) to ensure that desired programme outcomes and objectives are delivered. Initial 6 month contract with potential to extend on a rate of £700-£800/day (Inside IR35). This role will be hybrid working with at least three days per week in the Edinburgh office. Responsibilities: - Lead the successful delivery of the Programme for the organisation. - Day to day leadership and management of the Business Improvement Programme and oversight of associated workstreams - Preparing and controlling all Programme documentation and reporting, for Programme Board, Board and Board Scrutiny Group - Provide advice, guidance and support to the Chief Executive and Executive Team in relation to the Programme - Help to embed an increased focus on delivery and outcomes through the organisation’s Project Management Office. - Other matters as appropriate and necessary. Essential Skills: - An individual who has enjoyed a successful career to date at director level possibly having worked in a number of different functions and different settings. - Experienced in leading change and business improvement in a considered and people centric way. - Providing leadership on organisational change in relation to People and culture. - Able to flex between leading, doing and delivering (as a small organisation all colleagues need to be comfortable rolling up their sleeves and getting hands on). In practice this may mean drafting minutes yourself, organising meetings yourself, preparing programme materials yourself. - Able to form professional, respectful and supportive relationships with colleagues irrespective of seniority. - Supporting the Chief Executive in ‘getting things done’ and ‘moving forward together’. - Comfortable coaching and mentoring colleagues with less experience, adopting a collaborative and inclusive approach. - Strong leadership behaviours - Flexible mindset. Resilient. - Degree qualified or equivalent experience - Chartered membership to a professional body associated with the business, change management, HR, law, IT or finance is beneficial. - Experience of project work, working to tight deadlines, driving an outcome. - Sounds understanding and professional expertise in relation to organisational change, People and culture.
