Graduate Hotels is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to join The Randolph Hotel and its brilliant team of hospitality enthusiasts The landmark 151-bedroom Randolph Hotel in Oxford is part of the Graduate Hotels collection. THE ROLE As a Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for the safety, upkeep, maintenance, and management of all areas of the hotel. You will use your leadership skills to inspire your team and provide a seamless guest experience every time. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for the overall maintenance of the hotel's facilities and equipment. Lead the performance of the maintenance team, ensuring it is effectively managed through a focus on recruitment, training, problem resolution, coaching, succession planning and accountability. Ensuring the 4,8, and 12-week probation review meetings are conducted for all new starters. Conduct annual and mid-year Appraisals with Team Members. Ensure that the maintenance budget and stock levels are controlled, ensuring that all expenses are kept in line with budget guidelines. To be fully aware and competent in all health and safety procedures and policies and assist with preparing all risk assessments. Ensure that there is an effective PPM schedule in place. Manage the onsite activity of all contractors. Order all maintenance supplies and ensure stock controls are in place. Maintain records of all machinery and equipment, including manufacturer's details, specifications, and manuals. Ensures regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards. Ensure that all fire safety equipment is maintained and tested in a timely manner. Arrange and coordinate quotations from suppliers in relation to maintenance work. Lead and manage a team of Maintenance Assistants who love our guests by setting and monitoring goals, empowering, and developing them, and creating an environment where people can be themselves. Proactively identify opportunities to improve and enhance processes and procedures. To be a member of the hotel crisis and fire teams and to be fully conversant in all related procedures. Proactively project manage any changes in policies and procedures. Achieve and maintain the highest possible levels of customer service to both external and internal customers, forging long-term relationships with suppliers and contractors. Check Alice regularly for guest requests/Maintenance issues/communication between departments. Undertaking Duty Manager responsibilities on a rota basis. Attend the HOD daily briefs, BEO, Health & Safety and Operational meetings. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR FROM YOU Maintenance management experience within a hotel or accommodation services area (minimum of 3 years). Solid understanding of hotel property compliance. Advanced knowledge across or expertise in electrical, mechanical, plumbing, joinery, and decorating disciplines. Qualification in plumbing or electricity will be an advantage. Expert knowledge of Health & Safety and Fire Regulations. You drive a high-performance culture, setting clear expectations, empowering your team, and holding them accountable.
