The role of a UAT/QAT Analyst, especially in a Sprint and Scrum environment, is vital in maintaining stakeholder relationships and ensuring stakeholders feel engaged. Their role provides a facilitated route for two-way communication and translation between business wants, through problem and outcome identification, matched to the user stories and tasks the developers use to build a technical system. Working closely with Product Owners and BA, the senior QAT analyst must help develop Functional and User Acceptance testing as well as training programmes and materials.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan, structure, deliver, and problem solve independently or with consultation on a documented approach.
2. Plan, deliver, and follow up from a series of online and/or in-person Functional and User Acceptance testing workshops as well as client-facing promotional/feedback sessions.
3. Create and/or translate acceptance criteria into test scripts.
4. Collaborate with delivery teams and determine the testability of functional and non-functional requirements.
5. Use your domain and business knowledge.
6. Take a business and operational view when analysing the system under test.
Skills & Experience:
You will have the following skills or proven experience:
Functional Testing:
1. Design and execute test cases using standard testing techniques.
2. Come up with different business scenarios for a feature, working with others in the team.
Non-functional Testing:
1. Show an awareness of non-functional testing techniques.
2. Execute non-functional test scenarios and identify defects.
3. Run non-functional tests others have written and know the processes to do so.
4. Understand a range of standard non-functional testing techniques.
Technical breadth:
1. Show an awareness of a range of tools and techniques for test automation.
2. Demonstrate some technical attributes.
Test analysis:
1. Identify simple patterns and trends.
2. Investigate problems and opportunities in existing processes, and contribute to recommending solutions.
3. Work with stakeholders to identify objectives and potential benefits.
