We are currently recruiting for a Financial Planning practice based in St Albans who are looking to recruit a Paraplanner.
Location: St Albans (Office based, post-probation - 1 WFH day per week)
Hours: Full-time (Mon-Fri) 9am – 5:30pm
Overview
The paraplanning team consists of paraplanners, administration staff, and trainee advisers. Some team members are split into pods (smaller sub-teams), while others follow a centralised approach to work items. Administrators in the team are in a centralised position, assisting with work across all pods. Your role will involve working as a paraplanner within the team to ensure the following responsibilities are completed. You will be linked to advisers, which are subject to change.
Main Paraplanning & Administration Responsibilities:
* Work directly with dedicated advisers and hold daily update meetings for all cases.
* Provide technical support to team members and assist advisers with technical queries and calculations.
* Compile research for new business cases.
* Draft suitability reports for adviser sign-off.
* Process client requests, such as withdrawals and contributions.
* Build cashflow analyses in preparation for client meetings.
* Liaise with clients via phone, email, and post regarding queries.
* Attend client meetings as necessary.
* Generate cover letters, one-pagers, and other client-facing documents.
* Print and pre-populate supporting documents for review meetings.
* Answer calls and handle queries as they arise.
* Ensure all paperwork is scanned, filed, and categorized appropriately.
* Use workflows to track new business cases on iO.
* Update iO with new fact find information.
* Process Letters of Authority (LoAs) and chase policy information with providers.
* Send out monthly valuations to clients.
* Ensure compliance documents are up-to-date and stored on iO.
Skill Set
* Proven paraplanning experience.
* Level 4 Diploma qualified or close to achieving this (R01–R06).
* Strong technical knowledge of financial products and services.
* Effective leadership and mentoring abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* High attention to detail and effective workload management.
* Honest, reliable, trustworthy, and able to act with discretion and integrity.
